The purpose of this association is to foster, promote, plan and execute programs aimed at improving the economic, social, educational, general welfare and other humanitarian activities of the Turkish community in the United States of America.

Istanbul University Alumni Association has as its primary objective, the presentation of a more balanced view of Turkish culture and Turkish people. We believe that increased awareness of Turkey and her rich culture will develop and enhance understanding between Turks, and Americans and the other nations.


PURPOSES

- Increase awareness of the history, culture and language of Turkey in the USA through events, educational seminars and courses.
- To become the premier cultural organization in the States with support for both new and existing Turkish American community members of all ages
- Bringing people with interest in the Turkish culture together regardless of ethnic origin, religion and other preferences.
- Helping to form a better and intuitive connection between US Universities and Istanbul University and various universities from Turkey and US via hosting seminars, cultural events, academic research and lectures from departments of different schools.
- Organizing activities to create occasions in which people can exchange their ideas and thereby raise a public awareness on the contemporary issues related to the Turkish Culture, Turkey and the Turkish Community in the USA.
- Cooperating with other Turkish-American organizations to contribute to the efforts on inter-cultural understanding and cultural diversity in our Communities.
- Facilitating the communication of its members with other Turkish-American associations in the U.S. and in participating in the organization of joint activities.
- Support to its current and prospective Alumni's and members, and help them to overcome the problems they may face during their adaptation to a new culture and a new social environment.
- To properly represent the interests of our members within our scope.
- To facilitate the interaction among our members to promote and foster continuing good relationship and understanding.
- To support existing trademark activities and as well as new activities that will build community in the entire Turkish American Community
